- Password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read it)

Payment information:
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your credit card number, CVV, or full card details.
- We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account.
Information generated by your use:
- Brief delivery history and archive
- Account activity timestamps
Website usage information:
- We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, including pages viewed, time spent on the site, and general geographic location. This is collected in aggregate and is not linked to your Perspicacity account.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate and deliver your personalized daily brief
- Process your subscription and payments
- Send service-related emails (brief delivery, account notifications, password resets)
- Understand website traffic and improve the site experience
- Improve the service and fix issues
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with third parties except as described in this policy.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Perspicacity:
- Supabase — database hosting. Your account data and brief history are stored on Supabase servers. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant.
- Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's own privacy policy.
- Resend — email delivery. Your email address is shared with Resend solely to deliver your briefs and account emails.
- Anthropic — AI content generation. Brief content is generated using Anthropic's Claude API. News headlines and market data are sent to Anthropic's API as part of this process. No personal identifying information is included in these API calls.
- Railway — application hosting. Your data passes through Railway's infrastructure.
- Google Analytics — website traffic analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized information about how visitors use our website. This data is processed by Google subject to Google's own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and brief history for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.
5. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and personal information
- Withdraw consent to our processing of your information
